New PlayhouseMrs Wilson, Mrs Guy and the Reception class would like to say a big THANK YOU to the PTA for our lovely new wooden playhouse! We decided to buy the wooden playhouse for the outdoor area with the money that PTA give to the classes each year. The children are really enjoying playing in it and can't wait to use it even more next year! Come and see it in our outdoor area!!

Ancient Greek DayOn Wednesday 2nd of December we had our Ancient Greek Day. We really enjoyed it. We are going to tell you what the girls did. First the girls did some weaving. It was quite frustrating and stressful but when we got the hang of it, it was really fun! After break we finished off our weaving and then made the lunch. The food wasn’t very nice especially the cheese. The only food we liked was grapes and the homemade pitta bread... read more
Primrose Lane Primary School does some Big Drawing!
On Saturday, 10th October, the annual Big Draw took place in school. Mrs Wilson organised the event which saw over 70 people take part this year! The theme was 'The Missing Piece' which involved participants choosing a small piece of a famous painting as a basis for a new picture using their imagination, so we had some very interesting new Mona Lisas and a few new flavours of Andy Warhol's famous Campbell's soup can, amongst an array of other works of art!! Every year, the event gets bigger and brighter so thank you to all of you who came along to make it a very enjoyable and productive day. Also big thanks to the PTA who provided the refreshments this year! Photos are available here

Giant Sleepover 2009
The children arrived at school on Saturday night and had lots of fun with Mrs Turnbull, Mrs Wilson and Mrs Winstanley. They played rounders on the field, took part in a 'Primrose's Got Talent' show, had a fish and chip supper brought in by Mr Frontczak, then they watched the Simpsons Movie! They snuggled down in their sleeping bags in the school hall and managed to get more sleep than Mrs Turnbull and Mrs Wilson!
The Giant Sleepover is a national event to raise money for Save the Children. It is the world's biggest sleepover and last year broke the Guiness World Record as over 35,000 children took part! Many locations take part in the event, and this year you could sleepover at places like Alton Towers, the York Dungeon, the Sealife Centre! We hope that we have helped to break the record again this year!
In the morning, the children had a lovely breakfast of juice, cereal and brioche in the staff room before having a run around on the field in the sun!
We'd like to pass on our thanks to Mrs Turnbull and Mrs Wilson who organised the event, and Mrs Winstanley and Mr Frontczak who helped on Saturday evening!
