Sports Leaders
At Primrose Lane, our Year 5 and 6 pupils have the exciting opportunity to become Sports Leaders, a role that fosters their personal development while enhancing the playtime experience for all pupils.
Empowering Future Leaders
Through the Sports Leaders programme, our older pupils develop key leadership skills such as responsibility, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving. These skills are essential not only for their time at Primrose Lane but also for their lifelong learning journey. By taking on this role, they build confidence and resilience, embodying our school values of kindness, ambition, and honesty.
Enhancing Playtime for Everyone
Sports Leaders play a vital role in supporting safe, active, and inclusive playtimes. They organise and lead games, encourage fair play, and help resolve minor disputes, ensuring that playtimes are enjoyable and positive for all pupils. Their presence promotes a sense of community and belonging, helping younger pupils feel supported and engaged.
Supporting Personal Development
The leadership experience contributes significantly to pupils’ personal growth. It nurtures empathy and compassion as they work with peers of different ages and abilities. It also encourages ambition by challenging them to set and achieve goals in their leadership roles. Honesty is reinforced as they model integrity and fairness in their interactions.
By participating as Sports Leaders, our Year 5 and 6 pupils not only contribute to a vibrant school culture but also gain invaluable skills that prepare them to be responsible, active citizens of the future.
